Data is everywhere and it’s very exciting.

But we could be doing so much more with it.

The Data Thinking Revolution (DTR) is a new approach to teaching, learning, and practicing data science. Traditional data science schools and bootcamps usually begin from programming and statistics and (hopefully, but not always) build research intuition from there.

Drawing from 15 years of teaching data science and quantitative methods at university and professional levels across multiple continents, founder Andrea Jones-Rooy, Ph.D., has developed a fresh approach to data science that begins from, well, thinking.

Don’t get us wrong, we love programming and stats, and that’s part of our program, too, if you wish to include it. But there are so many more things we can do with data without having to use those two techniques — which are also often unfortunate roadblocks to newcomers getting involved.

In Data Thinking, we learn critical reasoning skills specifically tailored to making sense of and making discoveries with data. We learn how to design research projects, build from our curiosity and existing expertise to answer questions we care about, harness the power of creativity and imagination to learn new things, and overall adopt a brand new lens through which to see, and better understand and improve, the world.

Welcome!
